How did YOU climb the mountain?

“Words are powerful. They provoke thought, stimulate creativity, and most importantly, they hold within them the power to heal. Most people do not realize the incredible life-changing potential writing has.” - Quote from Christin Snyder, motivational speaker.

Because Depression is often the outward sign of internal wounds, it is crucial to find ways to bring the pain/experiences to the surface in order to begin to heal them. Writing is one very proven way to do this. Journaling, for example, is a widely-used tool form processing emotions, and is used a a therapy tool for many mental illnesses, especially depression. Another activity that has been shown to reinforce a person’s resiliency and healing process is to reach out and help others recover from a similar condition. Sharing your experience, strength, and hope with another recovering from Depression is powerful MOJO! An energy transformation takes place between participants and a strong reciprocal benefit is available.

MelancholyWaves.Com aims to bring these two approaches together:

- Write your story of how you cope with Depression
- Share your experience of healing with others

Many of us with Depression have visited psychiatrists, therapists, psychologists, and other medical professionals to gain relief from this debilitating illness. This has benefited many of us, and yet, so many report a lack of “complete recovery”.  If I am determined to climb a mountain, or go on an expedition into the wilderness, would I consult someone who has been educated about the Mountain or territory, or someone who had actually explored or climbed it?  Perhaps both - the benefits of hearing from the actual “climber” would be indispensable.  MelancholyWaves.Com is a forum for the depressed and the ex-depressed. How do you live with depression? How do you live with someone who suffers from Depression?

Send your story to be posted on Melancholywaves.com, and help reach out to those in similar situations.
